Downloading .PDF Files From This Site
The files on this web site that are available for download/viewing are stored in the Adobe Acrobat (.PDF)
format.
To view the files with the Adobe Acrobat Reader, follow these step-by-step
instructions:
- Download the Acrobat Reader appropriate to your computer system (Macintosh or Windows).
Links to download the appropriate reader are provided below.
- If your web browser (Mosaic, Netscape, etc.) does not automatically decompress
downloaded files, you must manually decompress the file in order to use the Acrobat
Reader. Execute the utility you have (Stuffit, PKZip, Compact Pro, etc.) to decompress the
reader.
- Locate the downloaded file on your hard drive and click on it to install the reader.
- For Macintosh, you may need to click on the .hqx reader file you download from the Adobe
site in order to create the ACROREAD.MAC installer file. Once the ACROREAD.MAC file is
created, click on it to install Acrobat Reader.
- Windows automatically downloads the reader program. In Windows, click on ACROREAD.EXE to
install the Acrobat Reader.
- Download the file you want from a page on this site.
- Open the Acrobat Reader to view and print the file.
- Depending on your printer, you may need to reduce the size of the pages in order for it
to fit on an 8 1/2" X 11" piece of paper. Remember, a high-quality laser,
ink-jet, or bubble-jet printer is needed to print usable copies of the file. Some higher
quality dot matrix printers may also work.
