Yes, CCDAC does in fact have a committee specifically dedicated to the weave poles.  As you know, weave poles often represent one of the most difficult obstacles to overcome in training and preparing for agility competition.  Speedy, flawless execution of the weave poles is a pre-requisite for achieving the coveted qualifying round on the agility course.  Unless you are relatively new to the agility scene, you have undoubtedly witnessed or even have had first hand experience where a otherwise flawless run was sabotaged by those insidious weave poles.  Well take heed bunkie, we at CCDAC do not take these poles lightly!  Because we have all fallen prey to these sticks of terror and the fact that weaves represent the most complicated obstacle on the course it was imperative to assign a highly trained and dedicated group to strategically plan and coordinate the placement of this obstacle.  It is the goal of this committee to maintain high standards of weave pole construction, maintenance, and positioning at all CCDAC events.  With everything else that could possibly go wrong out on the course, misplaced, crooked, or inappropriately positioned weaves is something that we strive to avoid.  Therefore, it is the charter of the weave pole committee to make your weave pole experience a pleasurable and positive one.

Originally conceived by Matt Kevnick and Tom Kula, both of whom have fallen prey to less than pleasurable weave experiences in the past, the committee is supported by a tireless team of CCDAC volunteers who share the same passion for experiencing weave pole excellence.  These committee members have studied weave pole construction and positioning techniques and undergone extensive, rigorous training on the proper care and placement of the sacred weave poles.  At any given time you may find Anita, Amy, Kathy, Rhonda, just to name a few, relentlessly “dogging” weave pole criteria set forth by the committee at on of CCDAC’s events.  So the next time you and your canine team mate come across the weave poles enroute to your clean run, and as you begin to embark on that weave pole dance, remember that there has been a lot of attention and consideration which has gone into the look and feel of these poles that you are currently tangling !
